Organic Cosmetics
Organic cosmetics are made solely from natural ingredients, such as phyto extracts, floral water distilled from aromatic plants and vegetable and essential oils.
In particular, thanks to their smaller-sized molecules and lypophilic properties, essential oils are able to penetrate deep into the epidermis and as such are highly effective.
Organic cosmetics do not contain any colourings or preservatives and are not tested on animals.
More importantly, they do not contain any potentially harmful substances or carcinogens, such as synthetic colourings or preservatives that release formaldehyde, PEG, PPG or derivatives thereof, to name but few, which unfortunately are to be found in conventional cosmetic products.
To be labelled "organic" the ingredients in organic cosmetics must be certified in accordance with international EC regulations and checked by an authorized body.
In Italy EU regulation EC/834/2007 is followed. It gives guidelines on production standards, the raw materials that may be used, checks and certification, imports from third countries and more importantly, labelling. It is important to remember that the label should always bear the quality control and certification body and the label printing authorization number.
Organic farming represents a return to tradition and is the first step towards sustainable development. "Organic" does not just mean "natural", but "healthy" as well, since organic growing methods do not involve the use of chemically synthesized substances and respect both nature and man.
The extraction process of the active ingredients in organic cosmetics is highly ecological, respects plants, and therefore fully respects the environment and the consumer.
Choosing organic cosmetics means choosing eco-sustainability, health, innovation and, in short, Life!
